History

For well over 100 years a Christian church has been meeting at this site on the edge of Barcombe and through the years has experienced great blessing from God.  In recent years the church has been totally rebuilt and extended providing a wonderful facility in an idyllic setting.

The church has operated under a number of different names over the years, most recently Barcombe Baptist church, but, in Spring 2006, God stirred us to adopt the new name Jubilee Christian Centre, Barcombe

The term Jubilee has its roots dating back thousands of years, estasblished by God in the way he related with his people.  Jubilee always heralded God's favour, celebrating freedom and restoration through him, a theme that Jesus took up at the start of his public ministry.

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour."   Lue 4:18-19
