Our call to prayer

Prayer underpins every part of our lives individually and collectively

The Bible is full of the encouragement to pray

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Eph 6:18

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1Thess 5:16

Over the years God has also backed this up with prophetic words that encourage us to pray

I have a feeling in my heart that the Lord is releasing revival in your midst.  There is a sense of expectation but it is mixed with fear because people do not want to disturb the status quo.  However as the Lord increases your church in prayer life, fear will be melted and boldness will enter.

… we too have this anticipation in our spirits of a mighty move of the Holy Spirit amongst you that will shake every status quo.  In fact we sense it has already begun.  We see a church of men and women filled with fear and awe of God kneeling and bowing their heads before God in humility and brokenness, singing to the Lord and praising Him for the splendour of His holiness.

In response we are creating “space” for prayer

  • in our Sunday meetings - sometimes totally given over to prayer,
  • in our small groups,
  • in providing a prayer room
  • in times of “soaking”
  • in many more unstructured and informal ways
